Alan Brazil Gets Ban For Drink Driving
Alan Brazil a former striker for Ipswich Town, Manchester United and Tottenham was found guilty of drink driving last Wednesday. Mr Brazil, who is now a radio presenter had denied the charge. Sudbury Magistrates however found him guilty and he was given a 20 month driving ban.
Mr Brazil said afterwards: "I'm disappointed, of course. It's tricky. It is a grey area. It is a bit like the offside law in terms of procedure. We might take it further. I think I'm the first guy to ever be done for going too slow”.
"I'm still not sure that it was the right verdict today and it is something we might go to appeal over."
Mr Brazil had been driving home from a charity event when he was pulled over by police. The Officers could smell alcohol and he was given a breath test. On the 4 th attempt he gave a reading of 77 micrograms, which is more than twice over the legal limit.
