Is this the last straw for Drunks
A father of 4 who is tired of the constant drunken violence in local towns has suggested that people be made to take a breathalyser test before going into pubs and clubs and that if they are over a certain limit that they should be refused entry.
The idea has become known as the blow-before-you-go-in and was thought up by John Emmery of Albury, who is seeking council election in September.
Some feel that this is too radical and that it could infringe human rights.
But Greg Williams, a publican, said it was positive forward thinking in the quest for answers to the alcohol issues.
Mr Emmery has suggested a blood alcohol reading of .05 or .08 as a debate start point.
Mr Emmery also pointed out, “It is not for the corner pubs, they are not a problem.”
