New alcohol detecting device proves popular
One of the top travel firms, Ellisons Travel Service are fitting a new alcohol activated immobiliser to their fleet of vehicles in a bid to prevent any drivers going out on the road whilst under the influence, thus being seen to value their customers and to take their safety issues very seriously.
Although their drivers are very responsible and professional the Alcolock removes all doubt and this in turn sends out a positive message and portrays Ellisons in a very good light.
The Alcolock device is fitted to the vehicle and the driver blows into a hand held breathalyser which will have been pre set with an acceptable level or even zero tolerance of alcohol. If the driver proves to be in excess of the pre determined limit then the wireless device will prevent the engine from starting.
This device may also soon be a legal requirement in Europe where the fleet managers are under pressure to show that their drivers are of a high enough standard and have a responsibility towards themselves and other road users. The device is already used in Australia, North America, Canada and Sweden, with the Swedish Government already planning to have them fitted to all new buses and lorries in the very near future and in all new cars by 2012.
Ellisons Coaches are some of the best in the country and their customer list boasts a substantial number of the Premier Football clubs as well as quite a few of the Rugby League and Union Clubs, including England Rugby. The interiors are plush with leather fittings and trims, DVD, Wireless, air con and even kitchens, not to mention the available hostess service. The speciality of the company is corporate hospitality with each of the coaches covering distances of around 50,000 miles per year.
