Woman found guilty of child neglect

A 37-year-old woman arrested in February having been driving with her 4 children in the car was more than 3 times over the legal drink drive limit.

Robin R. Barron could face up to 20 years imprisonment after pleading guilty to 4 charges of child neglect, driving whilst over the limit and refusing to take a breath test.

The woman of Hanover County, USA was arrested by the Henrico police on Feb 20 after customers and staff at The Playing Field restaurant tried unsuccessfully to persuade her not to drive and even offered her a lift home.

It was around 11:30 p.m. when she crashed into a fire hydrant in front of a Fire Station and police found four children in the car with her, their ages ranged from 8 months old to 9 years old.

The Police had to use a search warrant in order to take a blood sample which proved to have an alcohol level of .28. The maximum legal limit is 8.
